Carroll Education Foundation's Grant Recipients and Sponsors 2010

The CEF grant, “Camp Cookie”, that the Dawson Texas History classes received will fund Camp Cookie Productions coming to Dawson Middle School n the the Spring of 2011 and preform for all of our students. Camp Cookie productions brings Texas History alive and both teaches and entertains the students through song and narration performed by the Camp Cookie Trio. Students will have the oportunity to see an authentic chuck wagon and hear stories and songs of what it was like to live on the cattle trails in the old west. In additition to teaching about the chuck wagon and cattle trails Camp Cookie also includes songs and stories of the Texas Revolution. Camp Cookie will perform five shows throughout the day for each of the seventh grade Texas History classes. They bring three to four performers who are dressed in period costume, an authentic chuck wagon and all of the supplies, etc. that go with a chuck wagon.
