The purpose of this grant proposal was to document and substantiate the need to purchase additional classroom reading books for our JES first grade classrooms. Our reading libraries are short of books, both in quantity and quality. Our new Readers Workshop method of teaching reading has also dictated a sharp increase in the need for student reading books. This grant will allow for 800+ new readings books to be spread throughout JES first grade classrooms. Thank you so much!
