Carroll Education Foundation's Grant Recipients and Sponsors 2009

"More Books, More Fun"" will provide the kindergarten teachers at Carroll Elementary School with wonderful leveled books in small sets so that they can meet with groups of readers during their Readers' Workshop. The kindergarten students are developing their reading identities and building their knowledge of reading strategies throughout the year and guided reading instruction is a perfect opportunity to foster this growth. With the books that we will be able to purchase with this grant, our students will be exposed to more great literature at their instructional level and the kindergarten teachers will be able to guide students in their discovery and practice of reading strategies and skills. In our classrooms, having more books will truly be more fun!
