Carroll Education Foundation's Grant Recipients and Sponsors 2008

Our grant is being used to convert our classroom into a flexible Black Box theatre space. We will have lights and a light board, flexible set pieces, and black curtains to mask our classroom walls. The students will learn how to use all of the equipment to put on a performance just about anywhere. When we have class and extra-curricular performances, they will be responsible for converting the space from the classroom to the black box and back. Our new space is going to be the perfect venue for the inaugural season of our Student Lab Series - plays that will be written, directed, and performed by the students - as well as class performances. Our first show in the Student Lab Series, "Robin in the Hood", is in the works, and we're all very excited to start working in our new space!
