Carroll Education Foundation's Grant Recipients and Sponsors 2008

With thanks from this grant, we will be introducing literature circles and the different student roles while using Robert Munsch’s stories. He provides a great way to introduce many key concepts to reading and writing. The stories lend themselves to ideas that can be discussed with the students to build comprehension strategies that are extremely important in the primary grades and throughout life. The students will use the books to guide their comprehension and become more independent readers. This grant will also provide non-threatening, cooperative groups that will all working together to increase learning and citizenship.
