Carroll Education Foundation's Grant Recipients and Sponsors 2007

The money received from the CEF will allow the elementary Quest teachers to create a gifted and talented curriculum unit focusing on the human brain. Fourth grade Quest students will collaborate with their intellectual peers as they learn about the anatomy of the human brain and how their brain functions differently from the average brain. As a culmination activity for the unit, fourth grade Quests students and their Quest teachers from all five elementary schools will come together for one day as they meet and work together collaboratively rotating through higher level learning stations focusing on the human brain. Students will also meet their perspective intermediate Quest teachers that they will be working with next year in the fifth grade Quest Program. Dragon University will help fourth grade Quest students transition from the elementary Quest Program to the intermediate program as well as stimulate math/science gifted students to begin thinking about attending the Carroll ISD Medical Academy.
