Carroll Education Foundation's Grant Recipients and Sponsors 2006

The Dragon Java Grant is providing supplies needed to open and run our Carroll Middle School coffeehouse that sells coffee to staff members and hot chocolate or smoothies to students. The grant materials that will be utilized are supplies such as a 60 cup coffee urn, 3 shelf utility cart, extension cord, and other supplies needed to clean and maintain the coffeehouse. All 576 seventh and eighth grade students in our school are asked to participate by completing a job application and receiving on-the-job training from Starbucks in Southlake on the setup process and assembly line for filling orders. Our CMS Math and Language Arts classes are utilized to incorporate some of the budgeting, spreadsheets, advertising, and sales tracking, while our Lifeskills and Behavior classes perform daily duties such as clean-up and preparation for the next day.
